Raamatu põhiidee on hea. Suure lumetormi ajal lähevad mitmed inimesed kaduma ja keegi ei tea täpselt, mis nendega juhtus. Kaksteist aastat hiljem on tookord lähedasi kaotanud juhtunuga mingilgi määral leppinud ja oma eluga edasi läinud, kuid siis tabab linna uus torm ja kõik on hirmul. Ja põhjusega, sest tihedas lumesajus hakkab sellelgi korral toimuma midagi veidrat. See on koht raamatust, mis peaks teoreetiliselt lugejale hirmu nahka ajama, aga kuna "Snowblind-i" tutvustatakse kummitusi sisaldava õudukana, siis jagasin kiiresti ära, mis toimub. Autor üritas küll selgitada, miks see aset leiab, kuid põhjendus jäi nõrgaks.
Minu jaoks oli raamatu põhiprobleemiks ekslik reklaam. Ootasin midagi nii verdtarretavat, et see mu öö läbi üleval hoiab, kuid seda ma saanud. Pigem on tegemist ebaloomulikke elemente sisaldava põnevikuga ja selle lähenemise korral oli häid momente rohkem. Näiteks meeldis mulle, kuidas tänu vaimude tagasitulekule said inimesed oma lõpetatuse ning väike laps uue võimaluse, kuid õnnelik lõpp ei kuulu ju automaatselt õuduka juurde.
